Step into Gallery 1 and experience Flow of History at Carriedo Waterworks, a walk-in public program that transforms the Carriedo Waterworks exhibit into a living classroom. Visitors will encounter curators and invited resource speakers who animate the story of Manila’s first modern water system through short talks, demonstrations, and guided show-and-tell moments. Historical maps and scale models are paired with live storytelling, while projection screens cycle through rare photographs of the aqueducts, workers, and neighborhoods shaped by the arrival of piped water. No prior registration is required—this event is open to everyone, and walk-ins are warmly encouraged.

To make the event interactive, children and families are invited to join “Build Your Own Aqueduct,” a table activity where simple materials recreate the principles of water flow and distribution. Adults can explore replica tools used in construction, handle sample bricks, and try a hands-on water balance challenge inspired by 19th-century methods. The event closes with an open Q&A at the gallery center, encouraging visitors to share their reflections on water, history, and the importance of public works today. Flow of History at Carriedo Waterworks makes the gallery not just an exhibit, but an active space where heritage flows directly into community learning.
